Consultation FAQ’s

Do I need to visit you in person to have a consultation?

It’s obviously great to put a face to the name and meet in person, however, if you’re based abroad or in another part of the UK that makes visiting our studio inconvenient, a telephone consultation will be ideal. Don’t worry if this is the case. Sometimes, we don’t actually meet a bride and groom until just before the wedding. We’ll get to know each other by spending lots of time talking by phone and communicating online.

If you just want to hire from us, you don’t even need to meet us. We’ll arrange for all your hire goods to be delivered and collected whilst liaising with your wedding venue contact. We take care of everything for you. All you need to do is make sure you enjoy your wedding.

By the way, if you do use us for any service, you’ll be so unstressed you’ll wonder what all the fuss is about organising your wedding.

What happens during a studio consultation?

When we contact you to arrange your appointment, we’ll have a quick chat over the phone. We'll quickly run over the details you filled out on the form and discuss what particular service you’re interested in. You can also advise us of any additional wedding planning services you might want us to organise for you such as catering, entertainment, stationery etc.

You can use us to design and plan your wedding or you can use our hire products and do things yourself. If you’re not sure what level of service will suit you best, we’ll help you decide. The purpose of this is to find out as much info as possible so you can get the maximum amount of value from your consultation.

In our design studio, you can do a mock-up of how your wedding will actually look on the big day. We can also show you examples of stationery, transport, marquees, lighting, even catering if you so desire.

What happens during a telephone consultation?

A phone consultation is very similar to actually being there in person. We will discuss everything pertaining to your wedding in great detail. We can then arrange to send you fabric swatches and product samples if you so desire. This means you can get all the benefits of a design studio appointment without actually taking the time to visit us.

During your phone consultation we will discuss the various products and services we offer. By the end of the call, you will have a complete understanding of how 88 Events can help you create your dream wedding vision. If you wish, we can then tailor a proposal for you based on your specific requirements.

Do I have to get a hire quotation or design proposal?

Whatever method of consultation you prefer, please rest assured that you are under no obligation whatsoever to move to quote or proposal stage. That said, the vast majority of clients who arrange for a consultation, do prefer to have some indication of the investment required to use 88 Events to help create their dream wedding.

If you choose to go down this route (and we advise you do!) then you are still under no obligation to accept anything we propose. At the very least you will have a good idea of what 88 Events can offer and the benefits of working with us to help realise your wedding vision.

No! Every day, we speak to couples all over the UK and prepare hire quotations for their weddings. As the vast majority of our clients are not based near our Glasgow studio, we have a phone consultation where we discuss your plans. We then send you a hire quotation that lays out all the details for you in an easy to understand fashion.

You can do this from the comfort of your own home or workplace. On the other hand, if you can take the time to visit our design studio, we highly recommend it. Here’s what a recent client thought of the day:

How long does the consultation last?

A design studio consultation generally lasts for around 45 minutes to an hour. However, depending on how much detail you wish to go into and the level of service you may require, they can take longer. If we feel that you will require extra time for your appointment, then we will allocate enough time in the diary for you. Don’t worry if this is the case. You can stay as long as you wish until you get all the info and advice you need.

Telephone consultations last between 15 minutes to an hour. Again, if we need to go over this time span we will. Don’t worry about call charges if you are calling from outside of the UK as we will call you at your preferred time.

How do I book my consultation?
