Called in at the 11th hour, we put our skills to the test for a lavish wedding in Hexham.
The bride and groom required a complete wedding planning service, so we were involved in every aspect of the wedding, including the planning, supplier co-ordination, the logistics on the day, set-up and de-rig of the reception and clean up after the wedding.
As the sun shone gloriously, the bride & her father were escorted from their family home to the church on a beautiful horse drawn carriage.
There, guests and the rest of the bridal party awaited their arrival, seated on chairs covered with cream linen and finished with an organza tie and fabulous flowers.
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to begin the celebrations with a champagne reception on the Village Green.
Entertainment was provided for the children, whilst the adults relaxed in the sunshine to the lovely sounds of a string quartet with champagne presented in 88 Events‘ luxurious pewter baths.
Guests then enjoyed a leisurely stroll from the green to the bride‘s family home, where a spectactular reception awaited them.
We co-ordinated the horse and carriage to collect the bride and groom, taking them for a drive whilst guests where ushered to the house to greet the newly-weds with a cheer.
The cocktail reception took place within the patio area where guests were served fresh sexy cocktails and mocktails, with mouth-watering canapés on black natural slate and pink glass charger plates.
The poseur tables were dressed in luxurious apple faux silk and tied with fuchsia pink ties, the glowing sun only adding to the vibrancy. Each poseur table had a pewter goblet filled with beautiful flowers.
We placed strong bright coloured scatter cushions along the wall of the patio for guests to rest on whilst sipping their cocktails.
Again, the string quartet played in the background, finding shade under a small open sided marquee. On the lawn were loads of fun toys for the kids to play with.
The fabulous ladies powder room was very chic with mirrored furniture and accents of shocking pink around the room. There were dressing tables, hat stands, a lush black carpet and stylish black chandelier.
The toastmaster invited the guests to follow him along a red carpet leading into the reception area where the bride and groom welcomed guests into the magnificent wedding marquee.
The room was split into two areas by a reveal unknown at this point to their guests. The dining area was lined with soft pleated ivory drapes creating a romantic atmosphere.
Three magnificent chandeliers were suspended from the ceiling adding subdued lighting to this romantic dining area.
The floor was carpeted in luxurious rich cream velour and the tables were covered in our lush vintage damask.
Bespoke napkins incorporated the menus, with a single white rose elegantly placed on the napkin as a finishing touch.
Cut crystal glasses where positioned at each place setting added to the lushness of the table, finished with gold rim fine bone china and Grecian cutlery. A 5 arm silver candelabra with an abundance of flowers and elegant candles was placed on the centre of each table.
Around the base of the candelabras we positioned 4 crystal nite lights. The bride and groom‘s chairs where tied with beautiful seat ties and finished with an elegant hand tie of cream roses.
At either side of top table the dramatic 6ft candelabras where positioned to emphasise the top table. Guests were served a delicious 4 course meal of smoked Scottish salmon with cray fish mousse, pink champagne sorbet, roast loin of lamb, charred rhubarb tart, and petit fours.
After the final speech the reveal was opened which was an incredible surprise for the guests. Behind the reveal was an amazing nightclub area styled with the colour theme of “Cadburys purple”.
The linings were flat giving a very contemporary feel with a striking white starlight dance floor and a white stage. A mix of black leather sofas and cubes, poseur tables with white stools, 2 trendy bars and professional lighting gave the ‘nightclub’ a contemporary feel.
For the grand finale, guests were asked to move outside the marquee onto the lawn for an outstanding performance of fireworks and music.
Surrounding the area where they stood to watch this magnificent display was a run of beautiful candlelit lanterns.
“Thank you for all the hard work you put into making our wedding such a success. It is remarkable what you managed to achieve at such short notice. All our guests were truly amazed and it was such a special day for us and all the family.”
