After seeing our advert in the Scottish Wedding Directory, Gemma contacted 88 Events for help to design her wedding breakfast in Morton House at Mar Hall.
Gemma wanted a stylish and sophisticated wedding design that reflected the beauty of the hotel and the significance of the day.
She visited the design studio where she met with Gillian and chose Cornish cream vintage damask table linen, swirl glassware and 88 Events new crystal collection as her table centres. It was very elegant and had a distinctly ‘wedding day’ feel to it.
Several months later Gemma decided that she wanted to change from this elegant look to something that was bolder and that oozed even more style and sophistication.
She had another appointment in our design studio and brought along her mum and sister for their valuable opinion. On this visit she met with our new stylist Lynne. During her appointment they looked at many different options and Gemma fell in love with the noir vintage damask!
Lynne set-up the ‘play table’ so Gemma and her family could see how the noir vintage damask tablecloths and chair covers looked. When Lynne suggested adding a latté taffeta seat tie the decision was made!
Gemma then wanted to choose tabletop items for her table. The swirl crystal glassware that she choose in her first visit to the studio still worked beautifully with her new linen choice, so on Lynne’s advice she chose complementing table centres, charger plates, nitelights and table number frames.
The entire table design was put together so that Gemma could see exactly what it would look like on her wedding day, and she was delighted!
So much so that she asked for 88 Events’ expertise to set-up all of these items on her wedding day to ensure it would look precisely like it did in the design studio.
To confirm her order and hold stock of everything she wanted, Gemma placed her order by paying a 20% deposit and signing the terms and conditions of hire.
Two weeks prior to her wedding day, Gemma confirmed her final numbers and provided 88 Events with her chosen table names so that we could print and frame them, ready for set-up.
Lynne’s involvement didn’t stop there. During this time she liaised with Gemma’s other suppliers, who would be working closely with 88 Events, to discuss logistics.
She communicated with the team at Mar Hall to discuss the table plan, room layout and how the setup on the morning of the wedding would run.
She also arranged for Gemma’s florist to take delivery of the black high gloss candelabra several days before the wedding so that the flowers for the candelabra could be arranged accordingly.
The day before the wedding whilst Gemma was making her final preparations, all of the items she had chosen in her design studio appointment were being carefully quality checked, counted and packed ready for delivery the next day.
On Saturday, the morning of the wedding, Lynne and three of 88 Events’ top event staff went to Mar Hall to turn Morton House into the stylistic wedding reception that Gemma wanted.
The tablecloths where carefully unfolded and placed on the tables, chair covers fitted perfectly and the seat ties were tied with precision.
The 88 Events team took great care to place all of the table top items onto the tables, ensuring that each place setting was a mirror image of the one before and that each nitelight and frame were flawlessly positioned.
88 Events’ has a fantastic working relationship with Mar Hall which meant that arranging for their staff to de-rig and pack away all of the items Gemma had hired was easy. Everything was packed and ready for our van to collect on Monday.
These are the items that Gemma hired to create the stylish wedding she dreamt of:
