Who do we work with?

The types of company that use 88 Events to design and manage their events...

Using 88 Events to design your event will usually mean that at the very least, we will design an event for you tailored to your own specific budget and specifications.

How much extra we do depends on what sort of company you are and whether you have other suppliers you wish to organise yourself.

Another option would be to let 88 Events suggest some of our own preferred partners whom we would then co-ordinate thus minimizing the hassle for you.

The proposal - what‘s included?

The main elements that 88 Events would suggest in their design proposal will usually be one or all of the following:

  • Event décor (e.g. linen, table centres, tabletop, props, etc.)
  • Set design
  • Lighting
  • Audio visual
  • Flowers
  • Entertainment
  • Printing (e.g. menus, table plans, place cards, event programmes etc.)

The above are crucial to the design of your event and are the main factors that will influence whether your event leaves a positive and lasting impression on your clients, staff or guests.

You are in no way obliged to use 88 Events to organise every one of the above elements, however, our experience in designing and organising events over the last 15 years suggests that this is what guarantees the best results.

Working with your other suppliers

You may, for instance, already be working with a production company to handle elements such as lighting and AV and already have outsourced your printing requirements. Alternatively, you may have simply sourced some entertainment for your event.

In these circumstances, we will happily liaise with your chosen supplier to guarantee that your objectives are met by ensuring that our design works seamlessly with the services you have selected from your other suppliers.

If you feel that time and potential cost saving is of the utmost importance to you, then it might make sense to let 88 Events handle other elements of your event such as:

  • Venue search and selection
  • Catering
  • Marquee design and build
  • Transport
  • Logistics
  • Travel
  • Accommodation

The above is clearly not an exhaustive list and it really depends on the type of client you are and what your objectives are.

Choose a level of service that’s appropriate for you

A large proportion of our event design work comes from other event organisers. People are often surprised to hear this, but it makes perfect sense. Every kind of professional is an expert in his or her chosen field or niche. It is very rare to find a company that is an expert in everything.

So, many of the professional event organisers we work with recognise that their area of expertise is not in event design. They will therefore use 88 Events as a support service to add greater value to what they can offer their own clients.

For example, a DMC may be organising a programme for a foreign group and have included a fantastic social programme culminating in a gala dinner at an amazing venue.

It is unlikely this company would ask 88 Events to handle the incentive, travel and accommodation aspects as this is what they specialise in.

They will however contract 88 Events to design and project-manage the gala dinner for them. This way, the DMC’s client gets the event they want and the DMC looks great in front of the client so everyone’s a winner!

Alternatively, a corporate organisation may look to 88 Events to handle the whole event on their behalf as they have made a strategic decision to outsource event management and feel their time would be best served concentrating on their own business.

88 Events’ policy when working with either the end client or a third party is to be as flexible as possible. We have no axe to grind whatsoever and recognise who our client is at all times.

When working with a third-party, we are conscious of the relationship you may have with your own client. Our sole aim is to provide you with the best possible service and let you take all the credit for the wonderful event you will have should you chose to use 88 Events’ unique design expertise.

However, we do with your permission like to showcase our events on our website but if this is an issue we are happy to not make any images public or promote them for our own use.

To summarise, we are completely flexible in the way we work and the level of service you choose depends on whether you are the end client or a third (or sometimes 4th and 5th!) party acting on behalf of the end client.
