88 Events are delighted to be involved if the design of Duncan Bannatyne’s Questionable Ball. The event is in aid of our official charity, The Scottish Spina Bifida Association and takes place at Ardoe House, Aberdeen on 18th November.
Our good friends at the Glasgow Science Centre have been putting on some fabulous events recently based on the wonderful world of science.
Today we carry on our series looking at ways to enhance your table dressing. The focus for today is on the wonderful and versatile charger plate.
This year, the event was brought forward from it’s usual date in October to July. The official title for the event this year was ‘Gordon Ramsay’s Summer Ball’. Working with some top quality chefs including Jacqueline O’Donnell of the amazing Sisters Restaurants in Glasgow and Clare Smyth, Head Chef at Gordon Ramsay’s 3 Michelin star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay the theme from the décor to the food had to involve summer.
Jackie lives in South Africa so when we met her at our design studio, it was important that we quickly got a grip of what Jackie wanted to achieve for her wedding. Fortunately for us, Jackie had a very clear picture in her head. This always makes our role so much easier as all we need to do is interpret the bride’s vision and make it come to life!
The word ‘theme’ conjures up horror for many brides to be. However a theme doesn’t have to be tacky fancy dress or garish rainbow colours
Some of the nightclub scenes from the first season were a sight to behold and the perfect inspiration for any Vintage themed wedding or prohibition style event. Incidentally, the Vintage look is ‘HOT’ at the moment. Has been for a while in fact and is showing no signs of going away soon.
It’s all well and good having a nice looking tablecloth and perhaps a chair cover, however if you want to take your table styling to a higher level, you’re going to require some enhanced thinking with regards to how you you utilise your ‘table real estate’.
At 88 Events, we’re already busy working on proposals for weddings taking place in Summer 2012. Some of these proposals will almost certainly include ideas for having an outdoor wedding ceremony. Anyway, we’ve been asked by a client to put down the pros and cons of her having an outdoor wedding ceremony next year. This, combined with the beautiful weather, outside makes it the perfect opportunity to share them with you.
Well it has finally arrived! The wedding of the century (so far!) will be over in a few short hours. Months and months of build up and then before you can say Camilla Parker Bowles, it’s over in a flash.
