A Classy Housewarming Party

| July 5, 2010 | Comments (0)

A classy housewarming party that left our clients’ guests demanding to know when party no. 2 would be taking place!

The Brief

88 Events were asked to plan and create a truly fun and relaxed party in a beautiful new home, where our clients, Agnes and Douglas could celebrate their move with friends and family. The most important elements of the party were to be:

  • Innovative & creative food that was informal
  • An abundance of booze to keep the party in full swing
  • Fun party music that would appeal to the younger and older generations
  • To enhance the interior elegance of the home and to encourage guests to move freely around the house and beautiful gardens

Event Planning & Management

88 Events were responsible for the entire party planning, from the initial design stage through to full event management on the night. This included the styling of the event from 88 Events hire collection and the booking, co-ordination and management of suppliers.

Creative food

On arrival guests were greeted with mini bottles of chilled champagne to kick-start the party fun! Four scrumptious food stations were positioned around the house so that guests could sample delicious new food as they explored the new home.

A seafood station with treats like smoked salmon and marinated tiger prawns; a rannoch smokery station with a selection of cold meats, farmhouse bread & chutney and more; hot & cold bowl food like compot chicken and Thai beef with glass noodles; finishing off with a mini dessert station serving peppered meringues, blueberry cranachan and more!

Delicious canapés such as smoked duck and spring onion pancakes and passion fruit broth were served by smartly dressed waiting staff throughout the evening, which was finished off with ‘fish & chip’ cones!

Booze bar

A beautiful circular dining space in the kitchen was the perfect spot for a fully functional and stylish bar to be installed for the evening. Qualified bar staff used quirky turquoise and ‘red blob’ glasses from 88 Events‘ hire collection to keep the drinks flowing all night.

Mellow music

To start the evening off and ease in the party atmosphere a professional pianist played a stunning baby grand piano in the main hallway during the ‘cocktail hour’. Following this, DJ to the stars, Guy, played a mix of music, put together by him and our clients.

The music was key in setting the fun relaxed tone where guests chatted and danced the night away!

Sophisticated Event Styling

To compliment the contemporary and stylish interior of the house, 88 Events kept the party design to a minimum, focusing instead on several dramatic flower arrangements of bright seasonal and exotic flowers, complimented with smaller arrangements dotted around the house.

The glorious summer evening encouraged guests to chill out on the patio around poseur tables and occasion tables and chairs dressed in funky coloured faux silk linen. As night fell, the candlelit lanterns added a soft illumination to the patio area.

Capturing the moment

Throughout the night, 88 Events‘ preferred photographer captured the essence of the evening through a mixture of formal photography and unobtrusive creative photography.

The verdict

Following the success of this fantastic summer housewarming party, plans for a cosy Christmas celebration went underway, and now, another summer event is in the pipeline!

Here’s what our happy customers had to say following the Christmas party…

“I would like to formally thank you for being a star, once again, at our party at Christmas. It was a great day and as always everyone had a ball! Need to think what we can do in the summer…can you fix the weather again!?”
