Transforming Gleneagles into a Scottish Castle

| March 11, 2010 | Comments (0)

This was without doubt one of the most challenging events we have undertaken.

The Gleneagles suite at the hotel was transformed into a Scottish Castle complete with stone walls, fireplaces, suits of armour and flags.

We then added a fantastic stage set incorporating castle windows looking out onto Highland mountains under a moonlit sky.

88 Events Company’s props team were really busy in the run-up to this event as they had the daunting task of making around 80 metres worth of stone wall effect coverings to be hung on all the walls of the room as well as a huge backdrop for the stage.

We also prepared replica fireplaces which were adorned with suits of armour and replica swords.

Tartan featured prominently of course as well as wooden charger plates and fantastic pewter goblets to really enhance the old style Scottish feel.

The guests were welcomed by a massed piped band, which was followed by a re-enacted clan battle.  A soul band performed after the awards were finished and a fabulous DJ ensured the party continued into the wee small hours.
